About this tool

Tasmota gives ESP-based smart plugs, switches, bulbs and sensors local, cloud-free control over MQTT, HTTP and Home Assistant. This installer flashes the official Tasmota factory image to your board over USB, from Chrome, Edge or Opera.

First-time install writes a full image

The factory build includes the bootloader, partition table and app in one file, flashed at the start of flash. That fully replaces the device's stock firmware, so make sure Tasmota supports your exact device before you flash.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tasmota support my device?

Tasmota supports thousands of ESP8266 and ESP32 devices, but not all of them. Check the Tasmota device database for your exact model before flashing — an unsupported device may need a different configuration.

Do I still need the manufacturer's cloud?

No. The whole point of Tasmota is local control: once flashed and on your Wi-Fi, the device is controlled directly over your LAN via MQTT or HTTP, or through Home Assistant.
